Is there less emphasis on Christmas in the shops so far this year because of the credit crunch?

I swear by the middle of November we are usually swamped with Christmas tat and terrible songs (Wham's Last Christmas, I can just about tolerate, but the rest aghhhh!). But this year, I don't know if I'm blind to it, but swear there is less Christmas stuff in the shops...is it because they don't think we'll be buying as much because of the credit crunch...or have they finally realised most sane people don't get around to christmas shopping until December?
