Pregnant cat not looking... PREGNANT?! HELLLLLP!!! She is also sick?! HELP PLEASE!!!?
The best way to tell if a cat is pregnant is to wait and see isfher abdomen becomes more distended, along with an increase in appetite. As far as the loss of interest in wet food goes, this is not a good sign, and could, along with the cold symptoms, turn into something truly life-threatening. And this could be harmful to the kittens, if she is indeed pregnant, because the kittens, if any, need that extra nourishment, just as a human fetus does, not to mention the fact that any illness an expectant mother has must be treated with extreme care, as improper-or any-medication could harm, or even kill-the kittens. Therefore it is imperative that the cat receive further medical attention without delay. I am concerned about any respiratory problems that are so severe that they can only be improved by the inhalation of steam, which brings me to the final part of my answer. Insufficient oxygen can impair brain and other development of a fetus.
