I have windows 7 and Im using Cakewalk Home Studio 2002, but none of the audio effects work.?

On XP all was well, I put it on a new computer with a terabyte of ram, and now the audio effects that are suppose to work with the directx audio does not work at all! I know Windows 7 uses directx 11, but I thought that directx 11 was retroactive to the prior directx's!! Someone please help! I need these audio effects!
