I pick number one. A meteor would wipe out all life in the area it crashed... An alien armada would more than likely be out for world domination... Zombies would want to eat everyone... Godzilla, Mothra, and Rodan always seem to want to fight other giant monsters in the area... This way, they could be fighting each other while all the humans escaped.
